Weather Near Me · Behind the forecast

Your place. Your choice.

You can browse city forecasts without sharing your device’s location. This is a prototype privacy notice, subject to operator and legal review before public launch.

Location is optional

Device location is requested only after you choose the location action and grant your browser’s permission. Coordinates are rounded to two decimal places before being sent for a nearby forecast. This reduces precision but is not anonymity. You can deny permission, revoke it in browser settings, or search for a city instead.

Preferences stay in your browser

Units, theme, favorite city identifiers and recent city identifiers are stored locally in your browser. They do not create an account and are not synchronized between devices. Clearing this site’s browser storage removes these preferences. The prototype has no accounts or advertising.

Requests and upstream services

City searches and forecast requests pass through the application server to weather and location providers. Providers and the hosting operator may process request metadata, including IP addresses and technical logs. Map tiles can be requested directly by your browser when radar is opened.

Upstream services have their own policies. Open-Meteo’s terms and privacy information describe logging that may be retained for up to 90 days. We cannot promise that third parties keep no logs or erase them on our schedule.

Questions and changes

Do not publish precise location or other personal information in a public issue. See the project contact channel for general questions. The deployment operator must verify hosting retention, provider policies and applicable legal obligations before enabling a public service.
